Well fall term is finally over and I had to say this term was not that great. Im not trying to make excuses but with family issues and personal and financial issues it made for an extremely difficult time for me. But it is what it is and thats all water under the bridge so i need to learn from my mistakes and make a change for the following terms. I have the rest of this month off and I'm going to do things I enjoy like spending time with my kids, crafting, social networking and sometimes not a damn thing. I have a full schedule next term and Im set to crack down and bust my butt like I have all the other terms before.
This Christmas I have soooo much to be thankful for. This time last year I had 3 back surgeries and spent almost all of December in the hospital. I dont remember everything, so things are kind of sketchy and I have had to ask the kids about certain things I dont remember but one thing I do remember is my loving family being there. I remember Ashley coming everyday and washing my hair and taking extra special care of me. Danny and the staff on his floor giving me the biggest room on the floor. waking up to gifts from the nurses and other staff I'm friends with. My family having to feed me for every meal and might i add....Danielle was the best feeder!!! The kids decorating my room and bringing Christmas to me. I am soooo thankful for being healthy now, my wonderful family and friends and sooooo much more.

1. My kids and my hubby!!! We all have our issues but they are ALWAYS there for me. Ooohh they might get on my never and I theirs, but they accept me as I do them!!! Thank you God for giving me them, I couldnt imagine my life without them!!!
2. My pets!
3. All my wonderful friends, young, old, from Ill, Vegas, Oregon and FLORIDA....I love you all!!
4. My job.....even though I would love to be retired where I work now is WAY better than the hell hole I got fired from this time last year!!!
5. School.....yeah I never thought I'd ever say that but its true, I love learning new things and relearning the old.
6. My house and having a roof over my head. I've become very appreciative of that since I moved here and met sooooo many good people living on the streets!!!
7. My health and my families health....this year has been very eye opening to the horrible trials of illness and death, God thank you sooooo much for taking care of my family!!!
8. The gifts of crafting that God gave me, make me happy and I hope its made others happy!
9. internet capabilities.....I havent had internet for over a week and it been a killer!!!
10. The great meal I've been up cooking off and on last night....it better be damn good!!!

What make me different from other people......hmmmmm???? Well I'm really not that different from a lot of people but I'm some ways I'm different from some people. I don't drive.....because I have panic disorder. I'm a little to easy going so I get walked on a lot. I sometimes think I care about things that others should put more value on and less about things that really don't mean shit in the whole scheme of things. I value my family and friends. I have good work ethics which sometimes I wish I could care less but it is what it is. Im a homebody and I love it.....I don't care to go out roaming around and spending money I don't have......but damn if I did have money that might be a little bit of a different story. Heheheh

Day 19- Nicknames you have; why do you have them......well anyone close to me knows my nickname.....Chrissygirl.....and how I got it was when my husband and I got together his brothers name is Chris too so whenever we would get together with family and someone would say Chris both of us would say "yeah". Sooooo my husband would say "chrissy- girl- Chrissy" and after a while it just stuck.

Wow I have been a bad blogger.....my last post was on the 5th of August.....eeehhhh!! Well, I'm not making excuses but I have been extremely busy with work, school and a few other future endeavors that there doesnt seem to be enough time in a day, let alone the energy to do everything that needs to be done. Its finals week at school and I'm just trying to get all the last minute things done and hopefully during the break I'll be able to catch up with everything and I'm hoping to get organized and have a schedule figured out of next term.....I'm going to schedule blogging in there somewhere because I do miss it!!! I'm not feeling all that great today so I'm just gonna rest, do homework and sit on the computer all day.....maybe nap a few times too. I'm gonna try and catch up on my 30 days of me and officialy finish it.....I'm way past due but its a quest now so I have to finish whether its past time or not!!

My math phobias

In my study skills for math success class i had to write a math autobiography....i thought i would share it with you because as i wrote it, it had alot of significance to me right now.
I first started having issues with my math in second grade. When I was in elementary school I was made fun of in school because I was very light haired and light- skinned, so I was called “albino”. At that time I didn’t even know what that meant but it made me very self-conscious and shy. My teacher was the type of teacher that really shouldn’t have been a teacher. She was very demeaning and uncaring. She wanted us to learn to count to 100. When I was home with my mom and would practice, I could not only write to 100 but I could count to my mom out loud. The teacher would make us get in front of the class and count to 100 in front of all of our peers. The same peers that made fun of me. When I would get up in front of the class I was so freaked out that I couldn’t count to 100. The teacher was very mean about it and I would be punished for the day in class along with her calling my mother and reporting to her that I was behind all the other students because I couldn’t count to 100. My mother was very…..I’m not sure what….I think disgraced because the teacher made HER feel like she wasn’t doing something right, if that makes any sense. Through elementary school I did not do well. I think after that I just shut down. I either did my work half assed or not at all.
Junior high and high school was the same thing, only by high school I would either sleep in class or ditch. The teacher would tell us they would rather have us sleep or ditch then to interrupt those that WANTED to learn. I had heard for so long from my mother “why can’t you be more like your brother?” (My brother never struggled a day in his whole school career with math). I started feeling really insignificant. My self- fulfilling prophecy of not being able to do math because I wasn’t smart enough to do it had come true.
As I got older and had children of my own, I started becoming concerned that I wouldn’t be able to help them with their homework. Not because I tried it and couldn’t figure it out but because I didn’t even try. I just basically told myself I couldn’t do it. I have two children that excel in math and the other two I feel I have done a complete dis-service to by making them afraid of math.
Now that I’m in college and I am required to take two math classes, I have been forced to challenge my self- fulfilling prophecy and face my math phobias. As the first few weeks of pre algebra have past, I have found that even though I still have some challenges to overcome, I am understanding and grasping a lot of the concepts I thought I would never get. I have challenged that self- fulfilling prophecy head on and found that I’m not as dumb as I thought I was. And with my new knowledge of math concepts I hope to help my daughters overcome their math phobias, because if I can do it anyone can!!!

my heart has been sooo heavy the past few days for my friend Jo's daughter Faith. Faith is 8yrs old and has cancer. I love our Lord, I truly do, but he really pushes the envelope sometimes with how much he puts people through. I find myself questioning his thinking. WHY??? All the horrible people in this world, why mess with an innocent?? why put a loving, caring family in such a horrible situation?? I know that God has a plan for all of us before we are even born and I shouldnt question hes purpose but its really hard to not be angry with him sometimes. I think of the saying "theres a thin line between love and hate" boy aint that the truth?? God I know I shouldnt question my faith in you but im having issues with that right now. please forgive me but can you blame me?? we need you to let us know youre there, but come on let it be in a positive way. Faith and her friend Ethan need you right now, they are so young, please please please let them have their normal lives back!!! let them be happy and healthy, let them have sleepovers, let them them go fishing and camping, let them giggle and laugh at their goofy shows us adults dont get and all the other things that kids should be doing. please let them and their families catch a break. if there was some life lesson you wanted them to learn trust me.....theyve learned it!!

dreams hopes and goals.....well, my dream is to have my own scrapbooking shop, with a coffee shop and day care so that a girls scraping time is hers time to chill, have fun with her friends and know her kids are taken good care of....but it cant be clicky, because ive been to a scrapbooking class with a friend and the other ladies were so clicky they made us feel like the odd girls out. EVERYONE will be treated like a good friend whether its the first time youve been there or your 100th.
my hope right now is that I can get through this stupid pre algebra class.....just when I think im getting it I figure out im not!!! eeeeehhh
my goals- my goal right now is to get thru thus term of college and get going on the medical transcribing program in the fall.....wish me luck!!

a letter to someone who recently hurt you

Dear person who recently hurt me-
I just wanted to let you know that you have changed from the person you were. You are not the down to earth person you once were. you are now an egotistical know it all that thinks only of themself. You didn't used to be like that, you've let yourself become this person that doesn't care about anything but money and how to spend money. You like to tell others about how misguided they are when you don't Even know what its like to be in their shoes. Maybe before you judge others you should take a long look at yourself....or maybe you should take a longer look at who you USED to be. You know we have had our differences in the past and we've gone our separate ways but you know who i am, Ive never been fake or phony with you as you other SO CALLED friends are, and YOU always come back in my life. Why?? So you can tell we how many issues i have, trust me...i know how many issues i have and you know what?? I'm okay with that because I'm not pretend, I'm not pretending to be someone I'm not. I'm true!! True to my friends, true to my family but most of all I'm true to MYSELF. Can you say the same??? I don't need someone in my life to point out my flaws, i need the friend you used to be. the friend that used to make me laugh, the friend that i could share things with, the friend that made me feel good about myself when i needed it the most. When you find that friend send them my way!

School is going good. I really love going to school. Soooo, the stupid summer cold is actually teetering towards walking pneumonia, go freaking figure huh?? Luckily I didn't put off going to the doctor like I usually do, so I'm on a bunch of meds and cant go back to work til Monday (hopefully) if I'm not better by Monday I have to go back to the doctor, so keep your fingers crossed I get better over the next few days cause I really cant miss too much work go figure that too huh??

Well, I officially have my summer cold and I totally feel like crap. It wouldn't even be that bad if I could take the time off to try and get over it but, well, you know how it goes.....no rest for the wicked!!! I think sometimes we hold on to certain relationships not for what they are, but for what they were. When the good memories of a friendship become clouded by the neglect and hurt you feel, sometimes you have to make decisions that you and the friend might not like. Letting go is not an easy thing but sometimes its the only thing to do to keep your own self esteem whole. When you are made to feel like everyone is more important than you and your feelings, its time to give some distance. Maybe youre too sensitve and get your feelings hurt too easy, but your feelings are your feelings and they are just as important as the others feelings.When you start setting your own feelings aside to hold something together that ONCE WAS, when you start wondering why that person keeps you around when there are sooooo many other people that mean more to them its time to start rethinking the relationship. Maybe you both need a break, maybe a short one or maybe a forever one!!! Maybe its time to keep the good memories of once was, before you only have hard feelings of now. Maybe the other person holds on for the same reasons you do. Is it fair to either one? They say "If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it's yours. well, I think as much as my plants and I dont want to admit it......i think we are home. when we lived in vegas my plants were amazing. seriously they took up half my kitchen area, then we moved here and they didnt weather the storm well, soooo ive been trying to get my little plants growin for years now
we were in shady cove and white city and they didnt do well and to be honest neither did I. now we are in medford, in this house I love so much and my plants as well as I seem to be flourishing. ahhh dont get me wrong things arent perfect, sometimes theres some wilted leaves and broken stems but we all seem to be weathering THIS storm a little better, I pray that our roots can stay planted here.

Demons of my past

There comes a time in your life that you have to come to terms with the demons of your past. Im one of those people that hates conflict and confrontation and I avoid it like the plague. I excel in avoidance and procrastination, but lately my dreams and nightmares have been making me very aware that it might be time for me to come to terms with at least one of those demons ive tried so hard to forget.
When I was 19 I ran away from that part of my life with nothing but what I could put in a few suitcases and boxes and the unborn child I carried. Hurt physical, mentally and emotionally, in my messed up mind I still loved the person who inflicted so much pain on me but gave me the child I carried inside of me. I dont know if he ever REALLY loved me, ooohhh he said he did many times but his actions proved otherwise. He would tell me when we were together that I was his and no one else would ever have me or want me and at that time I thought that was a good thing and it made me feel loved, the love that I needed so much. We would do good for awhile but those good times became few and far between. Our relationship become very volital especially once drugs and alcohol became involved. I was no angel in the relationship towards the end. He cheated on me many times and of course I was the last to know and the first to suffer through it. I had my indiscretions to pay him back, hoping to comfort the pain I felt so deeply. Not that he probably even cared. Not making excuses for myself but I was soooo young and naive and the pain I felt EVERYDAY of my life back then was immense. It was when I became pregnant that my eyes, although still blurry started to open to what was important, my child and myself!! For so long I felt I was getting what I deserved for one thing or another. ahhh you know the way it goes, I was stubborn, I was demanding, I didnt know when to shut my mouth and let it go, and basically I was asking for what I got!!! NO ONE DESERVES TO BE ABUSED!!! It makes me sad for the young women that have to face the same issues. The low self esteem, pain and loneliness they face is one you cant explain, unless youve been there you will never understand. They are not stupid or weak.....they may have their weak moments but they are far from weak. The strength that they have is way more than anyone in some cushy relationship. Everyday they wake up and wonder what they will have to face for that day, but they get up and face it and sometimes what they have to face is brutal but they face it, with scars and bruises not only on the outside but even worse on the inside. Those scars and bruises on the outside fade but those ones on the inside truly NEVER go away, they may subside but even many years later they are still there.
I remember the last time I saw HIM almost like it was yesterday. When I told him I was keeping my baby he told me to have an abortion, put the baby up for adoption or he would never acknowledge me or the child. I told him that was fine but he would have to deal with the guilt of that for the rest of his life. With that said he beat me up, probably one of the worst beatings he ever gave me. he took off and I never saw him again for that was it for me and the strange thing was i didn't leave for myself because I didn't deserve it, but I left for my baby, because for sure he didn't deserve it. If I hadnt left for my baby I dont know where I would be now. My baby really saved my life, for I walked away from the abuse, the drug abuse, the alcohol abuse and the abuser himself.
For a long time after i had left I still dreamed that my abuser would see things clearly and realize what he gave up and luckily for me he didnt. He kept his promise about not acknowledging me or my child and for that I am thankful even though our lives have been a struggle with no child support my child rightfully deserved, but my child is MY CHILD, MY SALVATION AND ONE OF THE TRUE LOVES OF MY LIFE!!!!
Soooo, why now many, many years later am I having the nightmares and dreams of the past??? Why is he invading my thoughts? I kept out of his life and I kept my son out of his life. I guess due to my indiscretions I felt I should let it go because of the humiliation of what my past secrets might hold. My son has a whole other family that doesnt even know him and the amazing person his become. Do they think about HIM?? Is it a good thing or bad thing if they havent?? Do they care to know the truth or should it just be left alone???

I was just thinking about someone in my life that I care about.....actually there are a few people, who chose the wrong people to put as significant in their lives. For one person chooses people of....lets say high end social statue.....hmmmmm well lets just say I hope you never fall down and out because if you think those people are going to be there for you when the chips are down, honey you got a long wait and you better not hold your breath. Of course some people will never have to face that life lesson and they go through their existence of life basically living high on the hog and still bitching about how stressful and complex their life is. REALLY??? I think people put to much value on the wrong things. I think I'm glad that I dont have the best of everything. I know I'm glad for the wonderful (but mostly poor and struggling) friends I have, because not only can I count on them when the chips are down but they are TRUE PEOPLE!!! They arent all fake and phoney trying to put on a show for the audience of fake and phoney others. They are in your face real!!! Good, bad and all the in between. They lay it out in the opened and arent ashamed of who they REALLY ARE. I've seen some of them at their weakest moments.....and I mean WEAKEST, not ooohhh I have to decide on where to go out to eat tonight.....I MEAN WATCHING SOMEONE GO THROUGH AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP AND HAVING NO WHERE TO GO, or WATCHING A FAMILY GO THROUGH THE DAY TO DAY TRAUMA OF THEIR CHILD HAVING CANCER, or HAVING A FRIEND LIVING IN A HOMELESS SHELTER WITH HER CHILDREN!!! And so on and so on!!! Soooo the next time you think youve got stress in your life or you wonder why someone has a negative attitude (but still ALWAYS HAS A SMILE ON THEIR FACE), you might consider taking a walk in their shoes before you point out their flaws, because you might REALLY BE THE ONE WHO SHOULD TAKE A REAL HARD LOOK AT YOURSELF BEFORE YOU JUDGE OTHERS!!!
